Histomorphometric Assessment of Surgically Made Alveolar Bone Defects Healing in Response to Aloe Vera Gel: An Experimental Study on Rabbits

Aims: The aim of the current study is to evaluate effect Aloe Vera gel on healing process surgically made maxillary alveolar bone defects and new tissue formation in rabbits. Materials Methods: Twenty albino rabbits were randomly chosen conduct study, all selected inhabited under same circumstances involving ventilation, temperature, diet. Each rabbit received anesthetic solution separately underwent a surgical procedure both sides which involved longitudinal oral mucosal incision followed by circular defect creation further placement tiny foam piece left side animal's jaw bone, while right hole was empty for control. According euthanization date, divided into five groups euthanized at 3rd, 7th, 14th,28th, 42 days post-surgery, histomorphometric assessment included evaluation amount granulation formed calculation surface area newly relation microscopical field using special image analysis software. Results: Histomorphometric results revealed statistically significant difference between control all-time intervals favoring groups. Conclusions: has beneficial with its enhancement formation.
